History: Lucifer was one of the first children of God, created with her brothers and sisters as angels. Lucifer, in the original Hebrew, is translated as "shining one, light bearer," and when translated from the Latin Vulgate means "morning star, the planet Venus." She lived up to her name, being the most beautiful and most perfect of all the angels, as well as one who loved God fiercely. She was an archangel, but unlike the other archangels, she had a specific purpose. She was the angel of worship, created to dwell eternally in the throne room of Heaven.
However, despite Lucifer being created as the most perfect angel considering she'd forever be the closest to the perfect being of God, she became prideful from always being the center of attention. As such, when God created humanity, she saw how He loved them, and became overcome with intense jealousy. She wasn't the only angel to think that God loved humans more than he did his angels, and soon she was at the forefront of a schism in Heaven. War broke out as she led a rebellion against God. Standing against her, her brother Michael led the angels that remained loyal to God. The fighting nearly tore Heaven apart, but eventually, Michael and his supporters won. Michael himself cast Lucifer and her supporters out of Heaven. Lucifer and her fallen brothers and sisters then became known as Fallen Angels.
After the Fall, Lucifer's anger and hatred took control and she hated God for turning His back, and thus vowed to take his precious humans away from him. After all, God had given them the gift of free will, and she was going to exploit that fact. It would also be one step in the war she intended to continue to wage against the forces of Heaven. In the Garden of Eden, she tempted Eve into eating the fruit from the tree. That was how she introduced sin into the world. It put more of a barrier between God and His "beloved" creation. After that, it wasn't that difficult to continue to hold sway over a portion of mankind. While there were obvious people who could not be tempted by what she and her demons offered, there were still plenty of people who gave in to temptation and took what they had to offer.
Lucifer built her own kingdom, which eventually came to be called "Hell" by most people of the Abrahamic religions. Like Lucifer herself, Hell has multiple names, especially depending on the religion or text referencing them. After she became a leader in her own right, Lucifer continued to wage the war she started in Heaven. However, this war took place mostly outside of the realm of human knowledge. After all, it was a war raging on a plane of existence not on Earth. Her war has raged for eons, and playing with humans is more a time filler than anything else. Lucifer doesn't always actively do things like kill people or manipulate people to do terrible things. Yes, she nudges people now and then, tempts the faithful and virtuous into sin and the like, but ultimately her war is with God and his angels. Lucifer also has a very large grudge against her brother, Michael, for casting her out of Heaven and she's simply waiting for the chance to meet him in combat once again. She is bound and determined that the next time she meets Michael in battle, she will come out the victor. But that is a clash that is still some time off. Lucifer is biding her time, building up her army, before she makes another large scale attack on the forces of Heaven.
As a result of Lucifer playing the long game, as it were, she has plenty of time on her hands to do other things. Such as the fact that she's had plenty trysts with both her fellow demons and with humans. She's also had children, more than she can count. She's raised her demon-sired children, and kept an eye on her half-human ones. Of course, technically speaking, Lucifer is still an angel, that did not completely change with the Fall, only the loss of her status in Heaven and assuming the mantle of queen of Hell. After all, despite being called Satan, among other names, by the Abrahamic religions, she still goes by Lucifer. It was her first name, the name that she feels is still highly accurate to herself. After all, in her eyes, she is still very much the "shining one." Anyone who accuses her of using her angelic name is firmly reprimanded. She wasn't about to change her name simply because humans changed it in their texts, and she certainly wasn't about to pick another name when Lucifer was already a perfect name for a perfect being. Humanity can call her whatever they wish, but to the angels in Heaven and the demons and Fallen Angels in Hell, she is, was and always will be Lucifer.
As the queen of Hell, Lucifer's hand has been felt throughout human history. Dictators, mass murderers, wars, many of them were turned in such a direction by her hand. Also in her quest to undermine the strength of the forces of Heaven, Lucifer has "recruited" the souls of humans over the ages as well. She hasn't always been the instigator for such deals, some people willingly come to her because they want power or revenge or something of the sort. In return for granting it, she would take their souls to use in her army. Though when she sees potential for adding to her army, she has been known to approach a person in disguise and make a deal with them, giving them something and then taking their soul in the end.
But even Lucifer needs a break now and then. Especially considering how the mortal world is seemingly on the verge of a third world war. Having some plans ready for another strike against Heaven, Lucifer decided to come to New Dodge for some relaxation before making another push in the age-old war between Heaven and Hell.
Personality: Lucifer is, at her core, a petulant child. One could describe her war with Heaven as the ultimate fit because she didn't get her way. But, of course, the petulant child is not the only side to her. After all, she is the ruler of Hell, and was a former Archangel in Heaven. She did not achieve either station simply because she is prone to fits. No, Lucifer is incredibly intelligent and cunning. She knows what she wants and she will get it by any means necessary. Lucifer knows better than most anyone that there is more than one way to achieve a certain outcome.
She is also opinionated and has quite the nasty temper. As an Archangel in Heaven, she tended to keep her temper a little more in check, but she was always known to be a hot-head. While she can be pleasant, even nice at times, Lucifer has a hair-trigger temper. Her temper is fiery when it is roused, and no one is safe if she is angry, especially if she is angry with them. And to pair with that, Lucifer has a horrendous jealous streak. If she felt under-appreciated, she would become extremely jealous and spiteful towards whomever she thought was receiving the appreciation she believed she should have. Nothing was more indicative of that than when God created humanity. That is something Lucifer has not ever gotten over, and she never will.
Another negative trait is that Lucifer holds grudges. She hangs onto the anger and hate and does not let go of it. But unlike some mortals, Lucifer can keep it contained. After all, she has been waging a war begun by said anger and hate for eons and her anger and hate are still burning brightly within her. Hers is a fire that burns eternally, as her very name suggests. She is still the shining one, but instead of her righteousness being the glowing fire, now it is her anger, hate and spite burning brightly.
Lucifer is also a master manipulator. She is an expert at figuring out what people want, what makes them tick, and she can then dangle it in front of them and get them to do whatever she wishes them to. Using the proper motivators, she can twist most people into doing anything. She will always give people what they want, but if she asks for nothing in return, it's most likely because she's decided to play the long game of manipulating them into a spot where they will be her pawn completely. Perhaps still in full control of their own mind and such, but not having much of a choice to do anything other than what she wishes them to do.
The saying "prides goes before a fall" can most certainly apply to Lucifer, and she was the originator of the saying. After all, pride was her undoing as an archangel. It even blinds her at times, if one wishes to become technical. But Lucifer has an innate and intense sense of pride and self-importance that many may think is unreasonable. Lucifer believes she deserves better than what she has, even when she was at God's side, it was a belief she came to have. It has only intensified over the eons that have passed since her Fall. Of course, pride was perhaps built into her from her creation as God created her as the most perfect of angels as she was going to spend the most time near him. The downfall was her having free will and pride overtook her.
Even Lucifer herself has some redeeming qualities. After all, she began life as an angel, not all of her virtues and positive aspects were lost when she Fell. She is still very capable of love. She loves her brothers and sisters that sided with her, and her entire host of demons that have been spawned over the centuries. She loves her children, and she is fiercely protective of those she loves. She also has a deep love of music. Rock and roll to be specific. Rock from the 60s and 70s as well as 90s grunge are her favorite. She has an extensive vinyl collection, and more than enjoys listening to music. Humanity in general may have her undying hatred, but she does like individuals among them.
What makes her an AU is, well, she's female whereas the original canon version is male. Beyond that, she is generally the same. Perhaps she's more laid back than her male counterpart, a bit less spiteful in her approach to humans, but she still harbors animosity for them. This Lucifer can like individuals while hating the collective. This Lucifer is also an AU because of inserting what may be considered headcanon into the mythology used as the basis of her background to flesh it out and attempt to make it cohesive when the source material is lacking in details more often than not. After all, Lucifer is only mentioned a finite number of times in the Christian bible, a number that can vary depending upon which version one is reading.
Does your character have any close ties to existing canon characters? (Canon OCs and AUs only.)
The close ties she has are most notably with Michael, the other Archangels, God Himself and the original Fallen Angels. Listing them all by name would be difficult considering Christian texts only name a handful, and other Abrahamic texts have different names and references. While there are characters in game who know a version of her, she is not that version.
Why do you think your character would work in this setting?
First of all, she'd probably have very interesting conversations with Nick and Eve. Second of all, even the queen of Hell gets bored and wants to try something new. Why not come to New Dodge and see what's going on there? It's a way to pass time, and she's planning to behave herself. ...for the most part. She may act up at some point, but she can play nice and enjoy a break from her own world and her war. She's not in New Dodge to get put on a redemption path, she's not interested in that. But she like interacting with humans, as well as non-humans, and getting to know more of what makes people tick. Perhaps things she learns here she can take back to her world and put to use for how she approaches her war there?
How do you plan to expand their CR?
Lucifer is actually quite a social person. After all, how else can she tempt people into sin or to become her pawns if she doesn't talk to them? She doesn't discriminate between whom she talks to. Religious beliefs, age, sexual orientation, gender etc don't matter to her. She'll talk to anyone and everyone!
What will your character do for work?
She'll open a record store, selling both vinyl and CDs.
Inventory:
Clothing, jewelry, shoes (she can't go anywhere without her collection of high heels okay?), her vinyl music collection (mostly rock from the 60s and 70s as well as 90s grunge), record player

Third-Person Sample:
While Lucifer was by no means a stranger to taking a vacation and trying something new, coming to New Dodge had been a very large step for her. She'd never outright left both Hell and Earth like this, but she'd left explicit instructions that if anyone did something they weren't supposed to, she'd make certain that they were punished severely. And swiftly. Lucifer was not going to abide any attempts at grabbing power from her. She'd left a few of her most trusted generals, her closest siblings, in charge of things while she was gone. She never told any of them where she'd be going, just that she had something very important to do.
Of course, the generals she'd left in charge could probably guess she was going for some sort of pampering time. 'Something important' tended to be her code for getting pampered somewhere. Though her excursion to New Dodge was one that was to be spent more as relaxing. And to potentially go back home with some new ideas.
But until then, she had a store to run. And she could indulge more deeply in her love of music. As much as she may despise mankind as a whole, considering they had been part of the problem that caused the schism between her and God, she had an appreciation for music, especially rock and roll. Though anyone who thought black metal and death metal would be her favorite, considering how many called that kind of music "satanic," were sorely mistaken. Lucifer greatly preferred rock and roll from the 60s and 70s and 90s grunge.
Sitting behind the counter at her store, the Rolling Stones' "Sympathy for the Devil" blaring over the store's speakers, she couldn't help but to grin. Even as she payed nice, Lucifer was still plotting death and destruction. New Dodge, however, was safe from her for the time being. Though she was rather prone to hissy fits, and it was only a matter of time before she threw one and the residents here suffered the consequences of it.
